Glaucous Green · Orange

A bright orange fruit laid on a dish of pale celadon. The green is quiet to the point of grey, and the orange has held nothing back.

These hues sit opposite, yet the pairing avoids harshness because only one of them is loud. The green has been drained almost to a neutral and lifted high, so it behaves like a ground, and the full orange becomes the whole event. A vivid colour wants a calm field, and it is given one here.
