Pale Lemon Yellow · Dark Tyrian Blue

A last pale light low in a darkening sky.

A faint yellow and a deep blue lie close to opposite, the yellow very high and the blue very dark. Almost the whole of the contrast is value, the wide gap making the pale light seem to lift from the depth behind it. So small a warm note needs a ground this dark to be felt.
