Raw Sienna · Veronia Purple

Ochre earth turned up beside a bruise of dark red. The sienna is open and warm, the purple keeps to itself.

The sienna's gold and the deep red-purple lie far enough apart to strike a true contrast, with the sienna's brightness leading and the purple grounding the pair. Because the darker colour has been greyed, it supports the sienna without fighting it. Warmth runs through both and holds them to one another.
